Cosy Dublin Pubs

A traditional pub interior with wooden panelling, bar stools, frosted glass partitions, beer taps, and merchandise shirts displayed above the bar—perfect for celebrating Fathers Day in Dublin.

Best Cosy Pub To Visit During Christmas

Christmas is one of the easiest times of the year to enjoy Dublin. From REZz, you’re only a short walk from some of the city’s best pubs places that keep things simple: good pints, comfortable corners, and a relaxed atmosphere when it’s cold outside.

We’ve put together a list of our favourite cosy spots around the city centre, ideal for a quiet drink, a catch-up with friends, or a break from the Christmas crowds.

disndat | Dame Court

A modern, lively pub in the Dame Court/Temple Bar pocket with cosy snugs, live music, board games, late-night energy and seasonal cocktails with a drinks hatch for people on the go. Great for groups looking for something upbeat and central.

Mary’s Bar & Hardware Shop | Wicklow St (off Grafton)

A small, cosy spot known for its quirky “hardware shop” theme and full Christmas décor each year. Perfect for a quick festive pint during or after Grafton Street shopping.

Kehoe’s | South Anne Street (off Grafton)

One of Dublin’s most beloved old-school pubs. Think wood-panelled snugs, stained glass, and a proper pint poured the slow way. Always lively, especially spilling onto the street during December evenings. Over time it became a favourite hang-out for Dublin’s writers and artists. It’s a genuine “old-Dublin” pub.

Grogan’s (Castle Lounge) | South William Street

A Dublin classic. No music, no fuss just great pints, famous toasties and a friendly mix of locals and visitors. Perfect for an authentic, low-key pint. The interior is covered with local-artwork and keeps a longtime loyal clientele; it’s now run by the third generation of the same family, giving it a strong sense of continuity and community.

Ciss Maddens | Drury Street

A traditional pub with dark wood, old photos and a relaxed crowd. Ideal for a quiet pint. Ruby’s Cocktail Bar upstairs offers a handy change of pace without leaving the building. The bar interior was rescued from an older pub in Donnybrook giving Ciss Maddens a nostalgic, “pub-traveller” history that lives on in its décor.

The Palace Bar | Fleet Street

A historic Victorian pub known for its beautiful woodwork, snug corners and literary heritage. Atmospheric year-round, but especially charming at Christmas. Once a favourite haunt of writers, journalists, poets and authors have been known to gather here for pints and conversation.

O’Regans | City Centre

A family-run pub with live trad, jazz and occasional DJ nights. Warm, local and unfussy a comfortable choice for guests who enjoy a more neighbourhood feel. The pub is split across two levels, and the contrast between them gives the place a unique character.

Hogan’s | South Great George’s Street

Bright, spacious and easy-going by day, with a livelier vibe at night. A good option for people-watching, groups and anyone who wants something central but not chaotic. Positioned in Dublin’s Creative Quarter, Hogan’s gives a good mix of city-centre convenience and slightly more relaxed, local-crowd energy compared with the more touristy areas.

The Hairy Lemon | Stephen Street

Colourful, comfortable and great for hearty pub food. Popular with groups and well-decorated for Christmas, making it a solid spot for casual festive meetups.

The Auld Dubliner | Temple Bar

A classic Temple Bar pub with traditional music, a friendly crowd and plenty of festive atmosphere. Bright, busy and reliable if guests want a cheerful, tourist-friendly spot close to everything. The building itself dates back many decades and retains a charming old-Dublin character; it’s a good example of how some pubs in the area blend hospitality, music and accommodation under one roof.
