Cork Pride 2023 – Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion

Cork Pride 2023

Cork Pride is returning to Cork City July 30th to August 6th 2023, with this year’s theme of “30 YEARS ON”.

“30 Years On” celebrates the 30th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Irish Law.

Cork Pride is a vibrant and exciting celebration of the LGBT+ Community which is held annually in the heart of Cork City. Each year gets bigger and better with everyone coming together to show love for one another, show acceptance, and resilience, bringing together everyone no matter who they are. It is a celebration of diversity and inclusivity!

Over the years the Festival has grown in many different ways through attendance, popularity, and success making it the main regional LGBT+ Pride Event in Ireland. Run by the community for the community, this festival is not to be missed making it one of the most important events each year in Cork!

So whatz on during the Cork Pride Festival?

Jam-Packed Week of Celebrations

During the festival the whole of Cork City transforms into a kaleidoscope of bright and beautiful colours. The Pride Parade takes center stage as the main event, with businesses, national support groups and the Pride community from near and afar all coming together to participate. Each year the Pride Parade is also accompanied by various other events across Cork City such as workshops, parties, cultural activities and other live performances. This year the parade is set to take place on August the 6th followed by the post-parade event, Party at the Port! This year, the Irish stars of this year’s Eurovision, Wild Youth, are delighted to be headlining the much anticipated after-party! A brilliant way of round seven days of music, dance and entertainment.

Let’s Take A Look At What Happened Last Year…

It will be hard to beat the festivities of Cork Pride 2022 being the first Pride Festival after the Covid-19 Pandemic. 2022 Pride saw a week bursting with activities and loads of events. There was something for everyone, young and old and we expect the same again this year! Events held included great runs, family days, rugby tournaments, movie nights and lots of quizzes. Party at the Port saw some amazing artists like Nadine Coyle of Girl’s Aloud and Eurovision’s Brooke Scullion. That wasn’t all though, the days were filled with tunes provided by Cork’s RedFM’s DJs and also saw the local drag acts of The Kabin Studio. I mean all I can say is wow!

Local businesses in Cork played a very important part of hosting Cork. Last year the Heritage Pubs including Crane Lane, Arthur Maynes, Mutton Lane, The Oval, Rising Sons Brewery, The Bodega, The Black Dog, The Vicarstown and The Poor Relation decided to get involved!
